Pregnancy, birth, newborns

With deep immersion in prenatal and perinatal psychology for close to fifteen years, I recognize the challenges of conception, pregnancy, birth, and the early years of parenting. This time is often idealized in our society leaving the majority of families whose experience includes stressful feelings unsupported. In the cascade of changes, all participants of the family - mother, father, other caregivers, baby, and siblings - can naturally feel a mixture of happiness, uncertainty, and anxiety. When there is additional stress on the family, the challenges of parenthood can leave you even more overwhelmed and isolated. With careful attunement to your and your family’s unique needs, I support you in identifying and utilizing the resources (both internal and external) that enables you to cope with and thrive in situation like these:

·       Infertility

·       Miscarriage and other losses

·       Traumatic birth experiences

·       Postpartum depression

·       Single parenting

·       Having a fussy, colicky baby

·       Difficulties with bonding with baby

·       LGBTQ parenting

·       Adoption

·       Surrogate parenting

Depending on your family’s unique circumstances and needs, we arrange for home visits instead of or in addition to meeting in the office.
